Benni McCarthy lands in Nairobi ahead of Harambee Stars appointment

South Africa football legend Benni McCarthy has arrived in Nairobi as he prepares for his highly anticipated appointment on Friday bringing excitement among football fans in the region.

McCarthy ,who is set to sign a two-year contract according to reports, will bring along two trusted allies whom he has worked with at previous jobs.

According to South African outlet iDiski Times, McCarthy will name seasoned South African coach Vasili Manousakis as his assistant while his former Orlando Pirates team-mate Moeneeb Josephs will be his goalkeeper trainer.


South African legend Benni McCarthy has reportedly decided on the men who will join his technical bench when he takes over as Harambee Stars coach.


Former Nairobi City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti is tipped to be McCarthy’s assistant coach and will help the former Manchester United assistant coach settle in seemlessly in Kenya.

McCarthy’s first assignment will be the March World Cup qualifier against Gabon at the Nyayo Stadium..
