Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua may launch his new political party on Monday, January 27.

According to a tweet shared by one of Gachagua's partners, the process of getting the new outfit is almost complete.
The news was given by lawyer Ndegwa Njiru who did not analyze it in detail.
“Monday! A very big political baby will be born,” he said.
Gachagua had promised to give his followers a new political direction that they would follow after his differences with the President William Ruto.
He hinted at forming a new political party in which he would carry out his political duties.

This comes several months after Njiru advised Gachagua to consider joining forces with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka before the 2027 presidential election.
According to the lawyer who was one of Gachagua's lawyers during the impeachment trial, Kalonzo and Gachagua's cooperation would be strong against President William Ruto in 2027 when Gachagua wants to be re-elected.
Njiru suggested that Gachagua had a chance to be in government despite being sacked.
People prosecuted in Kenya are barred from public office.
Njiru was one of Gachagua's lawyers in the impeachment case in the Senate and later in the Supreme Court.
Recently, Gachagua has been meeting with leaders from all over Mount Kenya and outside at his residence in Nyeri to discuss the next step in his politics.
On Saturday, January 25, he met with the leader of the Narc Kenya party, Martha Karuawho vowed to work with him after settling their differences.
Meanwhile, Gachagua recently told Ruto not to count Mount Kenya among his voting strongholds.
The Mt Kenya area contributed greatly to Ruto's victory in the 2022 vote, and elevated him to the presidency against Raila Odingawho was supported by the government.
Of the 7.1 million votes in which Ruto was declared the winner, Mount Kenya contributed 3.5 million.
How Gachagua fell out with Ruto
Ruto voted with Gachagua as his running mate; the latter has seen himself as a criterion for victory in Ruto's campaigns.
Two years into their joint leadership, differences began between the two, which could not be resolved and led to Gachagua's removal from power in October 2024.
The former deputy president launched an attack against Ruto, accusing him of betraying the Mount Kenya region by allowing the case to pass.
Speaking to his followers in a live session of TikTokGachagua announced that the populous area would no longer support Ruto.

He said Ruto will not succeed in any efforts to pacify Mount Kenya, including giving government appointments to locals.
According to him, Ruto tricked Mount Kenya into approving his dismissal and the region is ready to forge new political friendships apart from the president.
