Hoteliers in Nyandarua County in the area seemed very worried; word spread like wildfire that their food was full of urine, causing them to lose many customers.
“We apologize for saying that businesses fail all over the world and people make mistakes. When you go into the restaurants around and you realize that nobody wants to eat anything from the shops,” said a businessman.

“As the leaders of the business community we strongly condemn what happened, you are the people who support the butchers. Tourists also eat our food because they use this road and buy a lot of meat from us,” he added.
Why do Nyandarua men refuse women's food?
Another resident claimed that the issue had followed them even to their home, and men were buying mekos to cook for themselves.
“We want to save our marriages; our men please welcome us into our homes even though it was a shameful act,” he said.
“The issue lies with the government and the health officials have closed the restaurant,” said the business woman.
