Embu – Blogger Billy Mwangi, who was abducted by men suspected to be police officers, has been reunited with his family after weeks of disappearance.
Mwangi's abduction followed his sharing of a complex AI image depicting the President William Ruto having died.
Mwangi, a university student, had been abducted in a barbershop before his release.
During the search for Mwangi, his mother fell ill and was hospitalized, while his father publicly pleaded to be reunited with his son.
The reunion, captured on emotional video in Embu town, showed Mwangi's mother holding him tight after weeks of separation.
He is now at his Majengo home in Embu town, recuperating with his family.
His disappearance, along with six other youths, sparked outrage and calls from authorities and activists calling for their unconditional release.
The incident has raised debates about freedom of expression and demands for judicial action by law enforcement agencies.
