The former president wanted to return to office as Doris Petra's deputy under the banner of Team Blue. Petra was Mwendwa's deputy during his two terms.

How Nick Mwendwa failed

The Blue team was defeated by Mohammed and his running mate, former Kenya international McDonald Mariga. Mohamed got 42 votes in the first round compared to Petra's 31 and Barry Otieno's 10.

Nick Mwendwa claims the FKF election was rigged

Mwendwa has now claimed that the election was disrupted claiming that some members were denied

“I have no doubt that these elections were disrupted, from the beginning the process was flawed, some people had access to the voter register and used their influence to influence the vote. Some members were deliberately prevented from attending the election, while others were forced to vote. vote in a specific way. This is not democracy—this is stupidity.” he told SportsBoom.

The outgoing president has claimed that the results were known beforehand.

“I've been in this game long enough to know when something is wrong. You can't have an election where everyone knows the results before the voting. This was not a fair competition. This was about controlling the results, not giving the results. The football community is a choice true.”
