A two-month-old baby was pulled from a pit toilet after allegedly being dumped by a man who is alleged to be his father.

A man who works as a farm boy abandoned the baby after his married girlfriend left the baby at his work.

The child's mother had left her child in the custody of her boyfriend after her husband reportedly denied being the father.

In her quest to save her marriage, the woman took the child to the man's workplace in Mikuu at night and left the child.

However, it is alleged that the father threw his baby into the pit toilet at night, only to find the boy in the morning.

The Tharaka Nithi Fire and Rescue Squad was called to pick up the child who sadly had already died.

“This should be condemned with all possible force. The child has the right to live despite the existing circumstances. This is bad, and people should stick to their marriages to avoid such things from happening,” one woman said.

For his part, the rescuer noted that the child had already died during the rescue.

In another case, there was joy in Ogembo, Kisii county, when kind neighbors rescued a baby who had been thrown into a pit latrine and left to die by his mother.
