How was Rigathi welcomed in Kirinyaga?
Gachagua, accompanied by his wife Dorcas Rigathi, received a warm welcome from the locals who seemed happy with their arrival.
Good reception of Gachagua in the worship of the dead in Kabare, County Kirinyagashowed that he is still loved by many people.
When he arrived at Kiamwathi Anglican Church where the funeral was held, the locals followed Gachagua, singing songs of joy.
Locals seemed to encourage Gachagua after he was fired recently for singing the song of Kikuyu called “Mudu Murathime,” meaning “the blessed one.”
They emphasized the main chorus of the song, which conveys the message that a blessed person can never be cursed.
At one point, two women held his hand as they led him to the church, where the female leader of the church welcomed him.
Gachagua and his wife could not hide their happiness, while smiling widely at the residents of Kirinyaga.
