The Minister of Education Announces KCSE Exams to Continue Despite the Government Declaring Friday as a Holiday

  • KCSE candidates can now breathe a sigh of relief as the government, through the Ministry of Education, has clarified the status of Friday's exams
  • Education Minister Julius Ogamba announced that the KCSE examinations will continue as scheduled, despite Friday being declared a public holiday
  • He said that following the order, members of the Examination Management Team of various Agencies are required to report to work

The Minister of Education Julius Migos Ogamba has set the same record regarding the examinations of KCSE scheduled for Friday, November 1.

This comes after the Minister of Homeland Security Stay Mudavadi issuing a notice in the government gazette declaring Friday a public holiday to facilitate the swearing in of Kithure Kindiki as deputy president.

Will the KCSE exams go ahead as planned?

In a press release issued on Thursday, October 31, the Minister of Education confirmed that the exams will continue as planned.

“The Ministry of Education wishes to inform the public that the holiday announcement will not interrupt the ongoing KCSE examinations scheduled for Friday November 1, 2024,” the statement read in part.

Ogamba also stressed that all members of the Multi-Agency Examination Management Team must report to work.

This is to ensure that normal examination activities are carried out according to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education.

“This order will also apply to all other primary education institutions that are in progress,” said the statement in part.
