Kiambu Senator Claims His Colleagues Were Paid To Fire Rigathi Gachagua: “They Paid A Lot Of Money”

Was Thang'wa bribed to support the dismissal of Gachagua?

Speaking on the Obinna Show Live, the senator from Kiambu he claimed that some senators were paid to support Gachagua's removal from office.

He claimed that he learned about it when his colleague called him out of the Senate and allegedly gave him a bag of money that would be his if he voted in favor of Gachagua's removal.

He also explained that the money was so much that he could not believe his eyes because he thought of everything he could use it for.

“They were given money, it was a lot, I have never seen so much money, you don't like money, I was called by my colleague who later took me out of the Senate and opened a bag full of money. I was told that the money would be mine if I voted in support of impeaching Gachagua,” Thang'wa demanded.

However, he said he rejected the request because it conflicts with his principles and beliefs as a leader.

“I believe if you receive money to do injustice, it will come to hit you. I am fine with the little I have. So I told the man that I will think about it, but I did not talk to him again,” he added.

Thang'wa accuses the Senate of Gachagua's dismissal

The senator had previously criticized the Senate for continuing the impeachment case while Gachagua was hospitalized after suffering chest pains.

Speaking to journalists, Thang'wa questioned why the Senate rushed to reach a decision on the motion to expel Gachagua.

Thang'wa claimed that the Senate could have decided to postpone the impeachment trial as Gachagua was receiving treatment but chose not to do so.

He argued that Gachagua, who is the defendant, should have been given the opportunity to present his case before the Senate.
